Who’s it for?


The Tec Instructor course is designed for professional divers who want to advance their career and take a more active role within the technical scuba diving community. It’s specifically constructed for experienced, certified technical divers, as it comes with a higher level of responsibility and leadership.

Whether your path leads to overhead environments, rebreather systems, or open-circuit diving, you can specialise according to your experience and interests. As an instructor, you’ll empower divers with the skills and confidence to plan and execute dives in advanced environments — using cutting-edge equipment and safely pushing beyond traditional no-decompression limits.

What’s included:

  • 5 days of diving in Gozo, Malta

  • Multiple in-water skill sessions with extensive video feedback

  • Minimum of 2 open water decompression dives

  • Detailed equipment configuration and setup session

  • In-depth knowledge sessions into the theory of decompression

  • A full review of all XR training standards and procedures

What do you need to start your Tec diving
instructor course?

  • Have logged at least:

    • 20 dives deeper than 30 meters

    Have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from a recognised training agency:

    • Extended Range

    • Extended Range Trimix

    • Deep Diving Instructor

    • Diver Stress & Rescue Instructor

    • Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor

    Have issued at least:

    • 3 Enriched Air Nitrox certifications

  • Have logged at least:

    • 200 dives (total)

    • 50 decompression dives deeper than 45 meters

    Have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from a recognised training agency:

    • Technical Extended Range

    • Technical Extended Range Trimix

    • Deep Diving Instructor

    • Diver Stress & Rescue Instructor

    • Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor

    • Extended Range Instructor

    Have issued at least:

    • 10 Extended Range certifications

    OR

    • 5 Extended Range Nitrox certifications

    • 5 Extended Range certifications

  • Have logged at least:

    • 250 dives (total)

    • 30 decompression dives deeper than 60 meters

    Have the following SSI certifications or equivalent from a recognised training agency:

    • Hypoxic Trimix

    • Deep Diving Instructor

    • Diver Stress & Rescue Instructor

    • Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor

    • Technical Extended Range Instructor

    Have issued at least:

    • 10 Technical Extended Range certifications
